For about five years I was involved in The London Playwrights' Lab, a group of playwrights who met monthly to critique members' plays. Two Lab members were Michael G. Wilmot and Lynda Martens, prolific and award-winning playwrights, who taught me much about the craft.
I've had four one act plays accepted into The London One Act Festival, all of which won awards, details of which an be readily accessed through the "Production History" button at the top of the home page.
These four experiences at The London One Act festival, ranging from props, costumes, directing and rewriting, although stressful and gut wrenching, in the end helped me in my quest to become a playwright. I learned how to shoehorn a 45-minute play into the required 30 minutes, re-editing all four, usually after the third rehearsal. Thank God for friendly actors who I suspect must have murmured under their breath "how could he be so stupid?" the whole time.
